Madiha Yousri is an Egyptian actress who was born in 1921. She is a cinematic icon whose filmography extended from the 1940s to the early 2000s. Yousri had more than 90 films to her name, dating back to the 1940s. She also starred in musicals featuring iconic Egyptian singers of the 20th century: Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, Abdel-Halim Hafez, Farid Al-Atrash and Mohamed Fawzy. Yousri was discovered by Egyptian director Mohamed Korayem in the 1940s. She was born to a Turkish father and a Sudanese mother. Her breakthrough role when she worked with Youssef Wahbi and Togo Mizrahi in the films: Son of the Blacksmith, A Great Artist and My Children.

Yousri went on to become one of very few actresses who starred in movies with all four of Egypt’s leading musical stars of the 20th century; as well as Abdel-Wahab, she acted alongside Abdel-Halim Hafez, Mohamed Fawzi and Farid Al-Atrash. She was chosen as one of the ten most beautiful women in the world during the 1940s.

She decided to retire in 2012, and her last appearance in 2004 was the series My Heart Calls You with actress Dalia El-Beheiry.
